PBS Television is planning to feature the WQED-TV. At present there is no specified date for airing the ELPC piece, but it is expected to air later this fall.

A film crew from Washington, D.C. was here on Wednesday, October 22. In the evening they filmed the Labyrinth walk at 6:00 PM and the Taizé service at 7:00 PM. Isn't it wonderful that we have a chance to show the nation what we're doing with these spiritual activities?! Thank you for helping us spread our good news near and far.

Hope Award recipient

Harold Mitchell, musician for Taizé and the 8:00 am service, is the recipient of the Hope Award presented by Universal Ministries of Hope and recognized as a "consummate and penultimate laborer for Christ...[his] christian labor is inclusive, but not limited to his involvement in the ministries of the renowned East Liberty Presbyterian Church and the equally recognized St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church, both located in the East Liberty community of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania." (from the Letter of Proclamation).

Gail Ransom serves as a judge

On May 16, 1997, Gail Ransom served her fourth term as a judge for the WQED-FM Volunteer in the Arts (VITA) awards. These awards are given to 12 members of the Western Pennsylvania arts community who have distinguished themselves through the arts. Gail has been a member of the WQED Board of Directors for three years.
